What If Productivity Isn’t What You Think It Is?
You don’t need endless to-do lists to feel accomplished. Let’s talk about what actually makes productivity work.
Happy Sunday!! I love the snow in Boston and never want it to go away!! Here’s a picture :)
icy icy snow in Boston :)
Here’s what I’ve got for you today:
Let’s dive in!!!!!
Productivity Isn’t About Doing More (Here’s What No One Tells You).
I used to think productivity meant checking off as many tasks as possible. More tasks = more progress, right?
But after juggling work, content creation, and personal goals, here’s what I realized:
Productivity isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing what actually matters.
Let’s break this down.
1. Productivity Isn’t About Hustle.
It’s easy to mistake busyness for progress.
Answering emails and organizing files feels productive, but does it move the needle?
2. Focus Beats Multitasking.
I’ve shared many times that I do not believe in multi-tasking, because you’re taking focus away from one of the tasks by at least 10%-which in turn will affect the quality of the task.
Studies show switching between tasks can lower efficiency by 40% (source).
Instead of splitting your focus, tackle one high-impact task at a time.
3. Prioritize Impact Over Quantity.
Ask: Will this task make my future self’s life easier?
If it doesn’t, it’s probably just noise.
4. Track Energy, Not Time.
Productivity isn’t just about schedules…it’s about managing energy.
I plan my hardest tasks when I feel most focused and leave admin work for when my energy dips.
Takeaway?
The goal isn’t to “do it all.” It’s to do the right things, consistently. So, what’s one thing you’re prioritizing this week? Hit reply and let me know

BOOK OF THE WEEK
If you could read one book this week, I’d recommend
Looking for your next great read? Here’s one!
One of my favorite lessons from this book is “If you have to eat two frogs, eat the ugliest one first.” 🐸 It’s all about identifying your most challenging (but important) task and tackling it first thing in the day.
I’ve found this tip super useful when I’m juggling multiple priorities, knocking out the hardest task early gives me momentum and keeps me productive all day. Highly recommend this classic for anyone trying to level up their time management! :)
